Introduced in 1988 to handle baggage, mail and express package traffic, the protoypes were found at the head or rear of many Amtrak runs through the end of the service in 2003. Based on MHC II 1500 Series cars, the HO models include factory-applied ladders and door wheel, correct GSC trucks with 36" turned metal RP-25 wheelsets, correct diagonal panel roof, and Proto MAX(TM) metal knuckle couplers.
