This 40’ boxcar was built in 1947 by Pullman Standard for New Haven before making its way to D&RGW and getting repainted in the mid-1960s. D&RGW was formed in 1870 and operated the highest mainline railroad in the United States through the Colorado Rockies at an altitude of 10,240 feet.
